Irresponsible Blogging

Now I know I write a little 'overtly' for some of you...and perhaps I'm a naughty girl, but this is wrong and I'm telling you all now I think it is wrong. It is disturbing and damaging to impressionable young image conscious young women.

I've commented on her post and I imagine she will have deleted my comment be the time you've read this.

Is this the type og blog I should 'flag' or is that against the whole freedom of expression idea? Afterall, I bet my blog has been flagged once or twice!

censorship is a very difficult area.

Mmm - it is irresponsible blogging but apart from commenting as you have I don't think you can do anymore.

It's all about freedom of speech and her chosing to do what she wants to do with her body (and mind). Flagging the post will not change a thing - she'll just go elsewhere.

      Yes..at the moment it is your choice...let's be extreme shall we...will it be your parents' choice when they are at your funeral service. No. Yours....Their choice to be in hospital with you when you are critically ill.No. Yours...or perhaps you may have children one day..and yes YOUR CHOICE to make them motherless so young.Your choice. Utterly. Completely.

        Basically, people can blog about anything they like. As long as she isn't recruiting other young girls to live the life she leads in some kind of ritual/sect fashion, which she isn't, then it's something she'll grow out of.
        
        It's a shame that she's screwed up, but hey, weren't we all at some stage.

That doesn't look greatly irresponsible to me, although I don't approve. I've seen some of the ProAna websites and they are truly disturbing. At least this girl eats some fruit and vegetables so as to avoid starvation.

I do think this girl needs help though, and comments from smart people such as yourself will help (and your comment hasn't been deleted as I write this).

I support her right to say whatever she likes, but I also think she is suffering from a minor mental illness that if it remains untreated will worsen.

    Maybe you're right. It looks within reasonable bounds at the moment, but this sort of illness tends to spiral out of control into very serious and major territory rather quickly.
    
    I'm not sure if anorexics crave attention or not. Perhaps at the root, they do.

if your mentally ill your not really responsible for your actions and the fact that she is blogging suggests like all of us that shes trying to reach out to people or unburden herself so be delicate when dealing with her

I've visited, I've commented. The whole set up is confused and paradoxical.

We, here are not in a position to physically assist this mind, if indeed it really wants to be assisted in this forum or any other at this point. It's proposing to skate on the edge, but with distorted thinking, as this appears to be, it may well go over.

Seaside man makes some valid points though it is difficult to say whether they can be translated into anything tangible for this child. I suppose we, ourselves can feel better by saying something.

As for what kind of blogging this is; one commentator made the point, not to visit ergo, no attention, no commenting. We are all in a position to personally censor what we do and read. That is probably the way to play it. Have you offered your concerns to blog?

Your parental and social concerns are laudable and they are really palpable. It appears no-one who has commented here likes what they see on that blog site.

Wow, now that is a blog and half eh!
I can see she is totally focused on loosing weight...but we all know she is going round it the wrong way. Anorexics are often sectioned for their own good and safety. To be honest, the way she is carrying on this would be a good way forward for her. Not that I'm sure she would agree!

Should you flag the blog up or not? Goodness Pip, I have no idea! As someone has already mentioned, if she blogs about it or not she is sure as hell still going to carry on as she is. I do feel that perhaps she is crying out for some help or attention or both even. It's so very sad.
